We have handled very serious cases in North Carolina for quite some time. We may get a call during an active investigation, in a panic, from somebody wondering and asking, “Should I talk to the police?” They want to do a debriefing. They want to record a statement.

Those questions and the way to proceed and the decisions made can have lifelong consequences.

I encourage people, and normally it’s normally a family member that is calling, to STOP.

We’ve all heard of the saying, “Don’t Just Stand There, Do Something.” When it comes to a serious criminal accusation, when the police are asking about life-changing events during an investigation, the better answer is:

Talk to an attorney. It’s confidential. It cannot be communicated or shared with others.

I like to sit down with you or a family member as soon as possible. I can’t tell you the number of cases where we could have prevented a mistake on the front end. If someone had called earlier, there may not have been as many problems with the charge.

Serious cases in North Carolina such felonies, fatalities and drug offenses, deserve serious, considered representation. That’s what we offer.
