James is a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in State Criminal Law, Federal Criminal Law, and Family Law with a trial practice in criminal, domestic, and general litigation.
He is deeply committed to excellence and professionalism in the practice of law, having served on the North Carolina State Bar Specialization Criminal Law Committee, the North Carolina State Bar Board of Continuing Legal Education, the North Carolina State Bar Disciplinary Hearing Commission, and as Issue Planning Editor of the Law Review at Regent University.
James also lectures at criminal, family law, and trial practice continuing legal education (CLE) programs, and is regularly designated by the Capital Defender as lead counsel in capital murders.
Marlowe joined Whitley, Jordan, and Inge as an associate 2019 in District Criminal Court practice.
Marlow handles almost all of the firm’s misdemeanor criminal cases including Driving While Impaired, Traffic Tickets, Drug Charges, Assaults, Larceny, and Probation Violations.
In his free time, Marlowe enjoys spending time with his wife, Christina, and their daughter, Emerson. He is an avid Nascar fan (Kyle Larson) and golfer.
Phil Dixon joined the School of Government in 2017. Previously he worked for eight years as an attorney in Pitt and surrounding eastern North Carolina counties, focusing primarily on criminal defense and related matters.
Dixon served as assigned counsel to indigent clients throughout his career and represented adult and juvenile clients charged with all types of crimes at the trial level.
He earned a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a J.D. with highest honors from North Carolina Central University.
He works with the public defense education group at the School to provide training and consultation to public defenders and defense lawyers, as well as to research and write about criminal law issues.
David Teddy is the former president NCAJ – North Carolina Advocates for Justice, a recipient of the North Carolina State Bar Distinguished Service Award, and a Fred O. Dennis Citizenship award.
A lifelong resident of Shelby, North Carolina, David Teddy was raised with a strong desire to help the people of the community he grew up in.
It was this desire to help others along with his appreciation of the art of debate that first spurred his drive to practice law. Thirty-two years later, he still maintains that passion, drive, compassion and determination as he seeks justice on behalf of his clients.
